migraines can also be triggered by what you eat and how you eat…i sometimes get migraines if i drink coffee…almost always get migraines when i accidentaly swallow food without chewing…best way to prevent migraines is to drink lots of cold water everyday…best way to get rid of migraines, at least for me, is to put your fingers inside your mouth and throw up everything you ate before…i feel so much better afterwards

Anyway the only treatment I can get myself and that works is ibuprofen, aspirin, paracetamol etc. Don’t think it’s healthy but it’s the only way out. Relaxation works only with pills. I’ve changed diet, used to do regular physical exercises, used to take anti-stress pills and nothing of it really works for me. I even quit smoking because of headaches (which is a good thing I suppose). I wonder if someday headaches/migraine will be permanently curable.

migraine fucking hurts, it hurts more than a headache, like 100x more, it violently shakes my head and makes my eyes and head dizzy, i couldn’t control my movement of eyes and it really is sensitive to light and sound, i heard a loud noise and i felt my eardrum busted

I’d prefer to have my migraines at the back of my head. Atleast then I could perhaps concentrate on something maybe even be able to work for a while without the migraine interfeering with my daily life so much. Right now the only thing that helps is sleep. I take medication with helps the pain but its so strong that I get extremely drowsy so much so that I’m even more debilitated because of the drowsiness than from the migraine.
So for functionality I just have to live with the pain. ~_~

I have a milder form of migraine ( compared to the rest of my family), but I have experienced numbness around the mouth maybe 2 or 3 times. Plus, I almost always drool a little bit on the left side before and during the headache. So, I assume it is just one of the things associated with migraine ( nerves around the mouth going offline ).

Oh, yeah…it’s definitely another migraine.

this is helpful. I just have nonstop headaches, and not migraines. I don’t have problems with light and sound under pain. I just wish my tylenol would work.

Ive had many operations, tattoos, beatings and nothing compares to the pain of a migraine. It makes me want to rip my eyeball out.

I get tension headaches at the back of my head, in my neck, and in my temples. At least I think its a tension headache.

sometimes I will hear a popping sound in my head followed by a major headache any one else get this same symptom

lozza925 August 17, 2009 at 8:06 am

The only way I could get rid of it is to somehow try and fall asleep, often waking up several hours later with an ecstatic feeling that its gone. My advice to people who suffer from bad migraines is as soon as you feel it building up, immediately lie down in a quiet dark room and attempt to sleep. I often put a cold wet facecloth over my head – this helps immeasurably. Doing anything at all will simply make it worse.

I’ve had problems with headaches since I was young when I would periodically get migraines. I have also been through a period of tension headaches for several months. In my experience tension headaches are much less severe than migraines. Like the guy below said, bad migraines can make you feel like u were dead. The pain is utterly terrible often accompanied by lots of nausea and I used to cry from it.

I get migraine headaches from time to time. One time when I was 16, I suffering from a really bad migraine. Their was crying involved. About 4 years ago I had a migraine with an aura. Scared the shit out of me, I thought I had a brain tumor or something. lol

I have headeaches almoust monthly :-( and they use to keep me away from society at the begining – 1 day…now the crysis is around 2-3 days !!! I thought that is higher blood pressure, but it isn’t. I can’t eat nothing, can’t think, drive, work, sing(that’s my job), walk, or sit. Just in bed, sleepy…with some tea or water. It’s a damm sickness. The problem is that nobody understands me how I feel, even my parents suspected that I’m faking.

fokojan August 25, 2009 at 4:50 am

people always play down migraine patients and do not show enough empathy. migraine can be so debilitating that sometimes you really prefer if you were just dead. i usually get attacks once or twice a year , an attack lasts 4-5-6 hours, so i am from the lucky ones, i get with aura and diarrhea and nausea. but, my migraines are caused by extreme moods (depression and serious hopelessness), if i keep my morale up, and control my anger, i beat it.

sgtborup August 26, 2009 at 4:15 am

i think you got the same kind of chronic headache as me.. migrain with aura, google it :)

and i feel with you, i truly do!

I have a headache that has symptoms of both the Migraine and Tension headache… from the list given here. I wonder what it is. My headache is often the frontal area behind one of the eyes (the pain is in both area but most sharp behind one of the eyes). My head trhobs and it gets worse if I continue to work… if that happens, I will feel nauseated and dizzy. Usually when it occurs, it won’t go away until I sleep it away. Now what do I have? Thanks!
